Sewing Basket, Ayr

The Sewing Basket has been in Ayr for 15 years & in April of 2008 I took over as the  owner.

I have  sewn, knitted ,crafted & created for as long as I can remember so when the opportunity came up to take on a little shop selling all the things I loved to do I couldn’t resist.

Since taking over we’ve had a ‘makeover’ & added lots of new product ranges including the knitting yarns, that are proving very popular .As well as loads of yarns to knit garments with we have vast stocks of all the new scarf yarns including Loopy & Cancan from Rico as well as Tango .We've introduced new ranges of needlework kits ,patchwork fabrics, ribbons etc as well as lots of products & notions you could always get here.

What we haven’t changed is the range & variety of goods & pleased to say I’ve also kept June here, whose been with The Sewing Basket from the start  , & brings a wealth of experience with her & is a delight to work with

-We decided not to have an online shopping facility as we have very little storage space at the shop &, if you phone your order through,  we can tell you ,there & then, if we have items in stock or if we can order them in for you.(We do post overseas for payment options see our mail order page )

-I strongly believe personal service matters greatly & it’s so much easier to deliver this if we’re actually talking to our customers
